Kevin Sinfield’s ‘Running Home for Christmas’
Reading Time: < 1 minute
Earlier this year, Rob Burrow, Leeds Rhinos’ rugby star, passed away after a 4 ½ year battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Prior to his passing, Rob, together with his friend and former teammate, Kevin Sinfield, completed 4 events to raise almost £20m for MND charities.
Kevin Sinfield set off on his 5th challenge on Sunday to raise money for MND. He is doing a 7 day challenge which will see him run more than 230 miles through Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester and our very own, Beverley and Hull.
Whilst wearing number 7 in tribute to the shirt number worn by Rob Burrow during his time at Leeds Rhinos, Kevin, together with his fellow runners, aim to raise £777,777 which will be split between six MND charities. The ultimate goal for Kevin Sinfield is to complete 7 challenges.
Prior to starting the challenge, Kevin commented on Hull and felt that it was only right to head to a different place in Yorkshire. Hull’s love of rugby and Rob Burrows meant that Kevin and his team are looking forward to the welcome they will receive on Thursday.
On Thursday 5th December, Kevin Sinfield will commence his run at 7am at Beverley Racecourse, to Hull Golf Club, MKM Stadium, The Deep before ending at Craven Park at around 1:40pm. More about the route that Kevin will follow on his 5 day can be found here.
From all of us here at Williamsons Solicitors, good luck and well done for the amazing work that you are doing to honour Rob’s legacy and raise awareness regarding MND! We look forward to supporting you as you pass through Hull on Thursday. Donations can be made here.
